We recently bought a Kenmore Stainless steel refrigerator model #795-71053-012. When we purchased it the only thing the salesman told us was not to use Windex on it. I have tried two different stainless steel cleaners and buff it with a microfiber cloth but it is full of streaks and fingerprints. When we get water from the water dispenser in the door if any water runs it leaves streaks down the freezer section. I tried washing it with a mild soap and drying and buffing it out but it is dull looking and still shows streaks and fingerprints. I did a small section with windex because the product said it could be used on stainless steel and the section I did with the Windex is beautiful. I am trying a new stainless steel product today to see if I have any luck with that (Pledge Stainless Steel Cleaner). Two questions is wrong to use Windex and do you recommend a certain cleaner. The manual only says to use soap and water and not use anything harsh. I am frustrated spending money on all these cleaners and not having them work and I sure hate looking at the front of my refrigerator with all those fingerprints and smears I hope you can help.

Hello Barbara, The best cleaner for stainless steel is..........Three n One oil! I use on a cloth that has NEVER seen bleach, a really soft cotton teeshirt. A vew drops of 3-n-1 oil on the cloth, rub the entire face of the appliance. You will instantly see results, Work extra on any food stains that may be present because even though they call it "stainless" it will stain if left in contact with food. I then follow up with a dry rag. Again, a cloth that has never seen bleach. All of my appliances are stainless steel, including my garbage can. They look great!
That's great information Janice! Thanks for sharing your secret to cleaning the stainless steel appliances.
