My grill is not heating up but the canister shows full.

I have a 2007 Kenmore grill, serial # G430010702001002. When I bought more propane gas and reattached the cannister, we turned it on but the temperature never went above about 100 degrees. We suspect low or no fuel flow but the cannister is hooked up as usual and I saw on the gauge that it's full. How can we determine if the cannister is the problem and if not, what do we look for in the grill that may have broken? thanks

Thank you for your question.

I can understand you wondering why with a full fuel tank you cannot get enough heat to cook with.

This is a common occurrence with full fuel tanks.

The new tanks have this OPD (over pressure device) build into the tank.

What has happened is that you locked down the regulator when you opened the valve on the tank and it will not give you enough fuel flow.

Please turn the valve off to the LP tank.

Then open all the valves on the grill.

Then disconnect the fuel from the LP tank for about 15 minutes to let the regulator bleed off the pressure.

Reconnect the hose to the tank and turn off all the valves on the grill.

Open the valve very slowly on the LP and only open it a 1/4 turn.

Open the farthest burner valve on the BBQ from the tank and proceed to light it. Then you can light the rest of the burners.

This should solve you problem. If it does not help you may need to replace the regulator on the grill.

If you need help finder the regulator please provide the model number not the serial number for the grill.

It should have a three digit number and then a dot and then the reset of the model number. Example 415.XXXXXX.

I hope this will help.
